The other side

It's one thing to hear "they're okay" as a general statement. It's quite another to hear it from them. What a mediumship reading actually looks like, and the boundaries that keep it safe.

I’ve learned a lot about the afterlife through my mediumship readings. I know death’s not the end. I’ve been given many insights into the onward process, where people go, and the kinds of priorities they have after they’ve left their bodies.

It’s a great source of comfort to have been given access to that. Also to get a sense of how structured it all is. What I’m always struck by is the intelligence, care, and intricacy that the mechanisms behind where we go and how we get there are grounded in. It makes me understand that while it might not be a simple answer as to why we go where we go and the path we take as part of our onward journey – that complexity is reflective of just how beautifully we’re able to be met with exactly what we need as we head on into other realms. I sense how the process in some ways is similar for everyone, but in other ways is deeply personal and reflective of your own beliefs, history, and needs.

For the person crossing over, I sense often the significance of the journey they’ve taken, how it’s impacted and matured them in profound ways, and how keen they are to reassure us here in the physical realm that they’re ok. Of course, it’s one thing to hear that as a general statement, but when suffering a loss, it’s quite another thing when you hear that directly from your loved one. I’m always really grateful to get to do the work that I do when I sit with someone and they hear the thing they needed to hear in the middle of the grief. A mediumship reading really holds such a wide spectrum of emotions – often several wildly different ones, all happening at the same time.

The format

For this reason it’s important to have the right container for the work. I maintain a strong structure. We begin by protecting the space and ourselves energetically. We open to the spirit realm. I then take some time to connect in for information and to see what’s going on. If the person is available and willing to speak with us. Sometimes, I’ll be honest, that’s a ‘no’. They might be in an important part of their crossing, and being pulled over here might disrupt that. They might simply not want to talk. Their guides will usually let me know if that’s the case. Sometimes they’re able to answer questions on the person’s behalf instead. That in itself can be very helpful.

If the person is available to speak, I give them space first to share what’s on their mind. I’ll channel any messages, but check in with you along the way to make sure the translation is landing. You then have space to ask questions, and to converse. Finally, we close the space formally. I don’t go longer than the hour, and often it may actually be shorter. Even half an hour can feel like a lot, and be quite draining for everyone, as profound and significant as it is.

I have some important caveats around the work. We need to give it at least six months since they’ve left us. Any sooner and they’re often still crossing over. Also, if anything about the reading is disturbing the deceased or anyone in the spirit realm, I’ll wrap it up. That gets into deeper shamanic healing work which is not in the scope of the reading. It’s a positive space for sharing only. I can take a read on pets but it’s not going to be conversation. I’ll just get a general sense around how they are.

If you feel like you could benefit from a mediumship reading, drop me a message or book in for a clarity call and we can see what’s best.
